In the real world, we are known because of the work we do. For example, when people do not exactly know the person being discussed, they ask questions like: "You mean Anna, the fish vendor?" Or "Are you talking about Pedro, the carpenter from Samoki?"
Even in the olden times, people created their identities through their work. Jose Rizal is not known because of his family. He is known because of his works as a writer, doctor, engineer, etc. His outputs later earned him the recognition of being a genius. Another example is Adolf Hitler. He is known, albeit negatively, because he was the general that made World War II possible. How he was able to do it earned him tags such as "charming", "great public speaker".
Assume that you are already ten years into the work that you have chosen for your self. How will that work create your identity? How do you want others to know you or judge you because of the work you do?

If my work after ten years is nursing, my work can create my identity by my position as a nurse. I want others to know or judge me of the work I do by my best strengths as a nurse and the things I can do to help people who have sick.
After ten years, if i am already a nurse it is the way others can identify me. I want others to know or judge me by my work and my skill.
ReplyDeleteThe work that I chose will create my identity by doing what is right, I'll work hard to make my work successful,I'll do the best that I can do for my work and through work, i can learn a lot of things which pertains to knowing more about myself, through work, i would be able to know more about my passions, gifts or talents which would also relate to my identity.

If ever I become a criminal psychologist and had already taken this job for ten years, this job would have made me brave and strong. I want people to see that I can face the danger of being eaten alive by psychopaths and not being a crack head myself after working for 10 years in this field. This kind of work uses analyzation I want people to see my achievements through how many murderers I've caught using psychology.

My work will create my identity as a business woman if I work hard for it and be nice to my employees. My attitude also plays an important role. My work will create my identity if there’s an excel in my job.
I want others to judge me in my real attitude, I don’t want them to judge me by my physical appearance and by the gossips they hear.

ReplyDeleteMy childhood dream is to become a lawyer. If after ten years I would be standing in a courtroom defending the innocent, then, the work I chose could create my identity in a way that I must be strong and responsible for my clients. I also want others to know me and judge me by what I do to help others.
If ten years from now, I would be able to qualify myself as a division schools superintendent, here are some things I would like people to identify me with in relation to my work.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I would like people to know me as a superintendent who really wants their children to have access to quality education. How will I do this? I will push principals to hire only competent teachers. I believe that the kind of education learners receive is much dependent on teachers. So for me, hiring of teachers should also be solely on their competence and not for family or political reasons. Hire excellent teachers and you'll be safe to expect excellent outputs.
Next........ (The above entry is an example on how you are supposed to tackle this activity. This is not a 1-paragraph activity. Extension is given until Wednesday - Feb. 16, 2011)
After ten years, I will be known as a Scout Ranger. My identity will be known by how I do my work and how I serve the country and the countrymen.
ReplyDeleteBeing brave in all the troubles and being responsible to do this pleasure to serve the country and the countrymen.People will judge me by the things I have done and the things that I will do or the accomplishments. They should not judge me by who I am because it is different from the work I have.

if ten years from now, i would be serving my country well by protecting the people of the Philippines, then this work I chose will be my identity. and I want others to judge me of what I am.
ReplyDeleteA dream of becoming a Physiological Psychologist is what I wanted to achieve. It will help create my identity by doing what is right to the people who needs help by performing what I learned. I want people to judge me on the work I do not on the number of patients I have taken care of but by all the people I have put smiles on them.
ReplyDeleteTen years from now, I still would like to visualize myself as a successful nurse.
ReplyDeleteI want to be known as "Kristine, the successful nurse," not "Kristine, the granddaughter of Khinay."
For me to create my own identity, I should persevere. I should not be discouraged if somebody tell me that I am not suited to be a nurse because I know that I can do it.
I want to be judged by other people that I am good in the field I choose and I deserve to be a nurse.
I don't want to hear bad comments that I don't deserve to be a nurse if in reality, It's not true and I did my best.
I am open to criticisms but these criticisms must be correct.

ReplyDeleteThis quotation means that no man can achieve his/her dreams with out his/her full effort.Example,If I want to have a secure job in the future and I just only keep dreaming and dreaming about it with out my full effort.Because of my being laziness,I don't aim it.As the saying says,"A rolling stone,Gathers no moss".
ReplyDeleteI wanted to become a successful woman in the future so I must have my patience in all my work just to aim it/I must be a hard working Girl.I must not lose my hope in the future,I must be sure that I can achieve my dreams If I really put my full effort with my studies and of course I must pray to our God about it and also my problems about it.
I must continue dreaming and dreaming what I will become tomorrow with my patience/hardworking.As the saying says."Dream and dream but don't make it as a dream.

Ten years from now, I would like to become a successful business woman. I would like people to identify me as the chief executive officer of my own company someday.
Before I become the C.E.O, first I have to be the general manager of the company. The term general manager refers to any executive who has overall responsibility for managing both the revenue and cost elements of a company's income statement. This means that a general manager usually oversees most or all of the firm's marketing and sales functions as well as the day-to-day operations of the business. As the general manager I am responsible for leading or coordinating the strategic planning functions of the company.
Then my next target is the chief executive officer. In order to attain this position, I have to see to it that I would be responsible enough to the duties and responsibilities of a C.E.O. The duty of the C.E.O is that he or she will be the driving force behind the company; he or she will make things happen, put together the resources to support the company and take the product to the market place.
For I dream to become a successful business woman, I wouldn't just leave it as a dream. I have to persevere to achieve this position. Have faith in God that He's always their guiding me in achieving it. Be a industrious and be patient. But for now I have to finish my studies.
Ten years from now i wanted to picture myself working as a chef in a luxury hotel or in cruiser ships. For me to be recognize by people in relation to my work here is what i can do.
ReplyDeleteForemost, I would like people to know me as a chef who can surely serve them delectable yet healthy chow. Applying my talent in cooking and of course for me not to waste the money and time that I spent in exposing and learning more about this job, i can guarantee my customers that even if its just their first time to taste the food that I prepared they will surely be pleased.
I suppose the the first impression or first move that you have done is what will people distinguish you. So I reckon, making the my first groundwork be satisfying will make the people know that I really can serve a dish well and good. //Seigrid Shamine Ayochok//

Hoping that after ten years I would be a successful architect, I want to reach this goal by giving all my best and use my God-given gift for good.
In case I become an architect I don’t want to be just known as an architect, I want to be known as “Kyrie, the young Filipino architect who had the greatest ideas on solving the overpopulation of construction crisis.” I want people to know me as their financial buddy on building construction works which would be safe and reliable. I will also guarantee the protection and their occupation needs from anyone or anything bad .Though some buildings don’t really last long I also want others to know me for the invincible buildings that I have made. Also I want other people to know me as a workaholic woman who made the impossible possible.
So the next time someone asks “who is Kyrie?” they would say “Kyrie, your best building buddy”.

ReplyDeleteI want people to identify me as a Marine that always want peace in the country. my first step will be, I will make rules and when I'm finished i will give it to my companions so that they can vote what we will be submitting to our captain for approval. For example my plan is to care for our boundaries, to double the security in order to prevent trespassers in entering our national boundary . in that way , I'm not the only one whose agreeing it, with the help of others the job will be greatly done.
In that way , I can be a good example of other Marines in order for us to maintain the peace in our country..

Based on the premises as future nurse, I want others to know me through my personality, support, and job accomplishments done. It is my capacity to be determined by others through my capability and accuracy of serving and helping people who have sick. Furthermore, I will do my very best to serve and protect the public in order to gain the hearts and minds of the people around me. I will also accept with a light and cheerful heart if I were given a responsibility. Through this, it is my great pleasure to be known as popular pertaining on my good reputation as well.
In general, I want them to know and judge me through their trust and confident on me.

If ten years from now I would be a successful businesswoman. I will see to it that I'm treating my employees nice and I will hire employees that is at least college graduate and have an experience in the position they desired. Be nice to my customers is the very important one, because if I have many friends and I treat my customers well they will like me and they will buy my products.
I want to build my own department store naming "My fashion House". I would like to sell clothes and jewelries that have a unique style, the quality is good and the price is not too expensive.
In my bakery store, I want it to be named as "The Sweets" Since childhood I really enjoy baking. I want to sell delicious breads and cakes, I want my customers to appreciate the taste of my breads, so I must know the perfect taste and ingredients. The taste must not be too sweet but saturated.
I want others to judge me in my real attitude and in the work I Do. I don't want them to judge me in my physical appearance or in the gossips they hear.
Being a businesswoman, I need to be hardworking because it is in my hands whether my business will be successful or not.I need to be brave in facing challenges and don't let other people pull me down.I will also consider the suggestions of my customers.
